The Commander is grouped in the class menu below his partner, the Observer - this class becomes available to the player at level 20. Perhaps the most unique class is Commander. This is evidenced by the different range weapons that are available to each as well as differences in available loadout options. One of the enjoyable aspects of Insurgency Sandstorm is the ability to pick a class.
